WRL Race at Road America

Road America was the debut race for the new Corvette C8 race car built by TC Kline and Adrenaline Surge.  Shaun qualified the car P3 for the Saturday race and we battled with our BMW friends for the whole 8 hours.  At end, we proudly stood on the podium in P3 then all signed the trophy and Alex took it home.  During the race, Dave got invited to join the broadcast team and gave a 20 minute breakdown of our journey along with some old stories from the Cadillac days.

Sunday was a great story but without the happy ending.  Shaun dragged the car into the lead and we fought valiantly in the top 3 most of the race.  Unfortunately, the car stood on its nose exiting Canada and Dave was out of fuel on track – stopped at the bottom of the pit entry hill.  Shaun and the 4-wheeler made it with tools (neutral release lever was missing) and we got going again.  Tony rounded out a fun day, but the result was of course compromised.

We got the car dyno’d and the performance balance by WRL was impressive.  TC and Shaun did an amazing job to put a reliable car on track right out of the box.  No surprise there.
